Roman Soldiers and Weaponry

I noticed a couple of new pieces of weaponry this year that I hadn't been aware of before. There was a very large tribulus, or caltrop, used for stopping cavalry, and yew bows, which were for use by the sagittarius (archer). I leaned over and took a look at the writing at the meeting of the centurions, and, impressively, it was in Latin (although the modern camera in the foreground does detract from the tableau a little...).
