The 1st of March is St Davids' Day, and all good Welshmen should wear a daffodil in their buttonhole. The daffs are a little late around here this year, but there are a few tete-a-tete miniature ones flowering in sunny spots. Incidentally, until recently, it was legal to shoot Welshmen in the leg with an arrow if you caught them inside Chester City Walls after 9pm.
