The Lion House is unusual in that at some stage it has been 'turned around', the back door becoming the front and vice versa. If you walk round to what is now the back of the house you can see the plasterwork of the old front door above what is now a rotting back door. The old front door was approached down a lane off Commonhall Street, and this lane led out onto Watergate Row, so Lion House has a second exit into Watergate Row.
