Rocky Lane

Between Parkgate Rd and Liverpool Rd there is a cut-through known locally as Rocky Lane, although I have never seen a signpost that says this anywhere. I was told by one of the city archaeologists that he thought it was originally created so that cannon could be dragged through during the Civil War.
