The last of the four medieval lanes is Feathers Lane (although I have seen it called Fletchers Lane, a fletcher was an arrow-maker). Not the most prepossessing of places, if you walk up it you come to a gate at the end, which, if you are lucky, will be open. It takes you into another world, which you can follow round...
