Chester Water

The water supply for Chester is extracted from the River Dee, at the bend in the river by Barrel Well Hill. The idea is that the current throws all the floating branches, leaves, etc. to the outside of the bend, and the water is taken from the inside, where it is put through a variety of filters and pumped up to Chester Waterworks. You can see the extraction point in the photo below.
