Organ Recitals

Chester Cathedral holds regular Organ Recitals, one of the aims of which is to raise funds for the repair of the Grand Organ. Tickets are only £5.45, or less if you block book them, and children under 16 are free. They happen on most Thursdays at 1:10pm, great if you are in the city centre and in search of an uplift at lunchtime.

Ribbon at Abakhan

If you have a bit of a liking for ribbon (and I admit that I do...), then Abakhan near Cow Lane Bridge in Chester currently has plenty of surplus rolls of ribbon on sale. Get down there quick before I buy all of it...please.

Jax Update

There was me, getting ready to post 'Will you be my Valentine?' photos of Jax, our foster dog, when he went and got himself reserved yesterday, on his first birthday. He should be going to a very nice new home, with another sprollie to play with. He just has to learn to be kind to cats...

Mersey Mission To Seamen

In the Cathedral there is a collection box for the Mersey Mission to Seamen that looks like it has been there a very long time. Intrigued, I tried to find out more. I believe that it has now turned into the Liverpool Seafarers Centre, and you can find out more about what they do here: http://liverpoolseafarerscentre.org/
