A Share shop opened up in Chester a little while ago, where you can drop off goods, or buy cake or coffee, including a 'pay it forward' coffee which a homeless person can claim. The Coach - Half Price Meals
The Coach (formerly the Coach and Horses) on Town Hall Square is offering half price meals for the whole of January AND February. Best of all, they let dogs in. So if you are looking for somewhere to eat out with your dog this month, this could be the place to go.

Chester Cathedral in Lego
Trying to raise money, Chester Cathedral has hit upon the novel idea of recreating itself in Lego, with visitors to the Cathedral paying £1 for each brick that they add. They have been going since Easter 2015, and have currently reached the 75,000 brick mark. Ultimately there will be 330,000 bricks.

February 2nd - Candlemas
In the Anglican church, Christmas begins on Christmas Eve and ends on Candlemas, which is February 2nd. Hence, as at yesterday, Christmas trees and decorations were still up in Chester Cathedral.

Pop Up Pay As You Feel Cafe
Over at the Lache Community Centre there is a pop-up cafe, which takes food waste from supermarkets and feeds it to people in the form of yummy meals. You pay what you feel the meal was worth, in either cash or by exchanging skills or time. They are operating on Sundays from 12-3pm.
